Growth is often measured in numbers: more people, more space, more equipment and more projects.
At KES Group, growth means something more. It means developing the people, facilities and capabilities required to take on increasingly ambitious projects while continuing to deliver the quality, precision and service our customers expect.
Founded in 2009, KES Group has grown into a multidisciplinary manufacturing and engineering company with more than 150 employees. From our headquarters in Strabane, Northern Ireland, we manage projects across design, engineering, manufacturing, fit-out, delivery and installation.
Today, we are entering an important new phase.
Our facilities are expanding, our team is growing and our investment in advanced manufacturing technology continues to increase. At the same time, KES Group is strengthening its position in international markets, creating new opportunities to bring Northern Ireland manufacturing expertise to projects around the world.
From Strabane to International Markets
KES Group’s growth has always been closely connected to its manufacturing capabilities.
In 2019, the company moved into a purpose-built 40,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at Strabane Business Park, creating the space needed to increase production, develop new products and enter new areas of the modular construction market.
Since then, further expansion has increased manufacturing capacity and strengthened our ability to manage higher-volume production. KES Group now operates from a 14-acre manufacturing headquarters where engineering, fabrication, assembly, integration and factory testing are brought together in one central location.

This integrated approach is central to our international growth.
Completing more of each project within our own manufacturing environment gives KES Group greater control over quality, consistency and delivery. It also allows complex systems and buildings to be assembled and tested before they are transported to the customer’s location.
For international customers, that creates a clear advantage: one integrated team in Northern Ireland delivering solutions designed for projects across the UK, Ireland and wider global markets.
That international reach is already visible across the business. During 2024, KES Group manufactured modular office solutions for delivery to customers in the UK and Europe. Energi X now manufactures and ships advanced electrical infrastructure from Strabane for international data centre and industrial power projects.

The objective is not growth for its own sake. It is to build a manufacturing platform capable of delivering larger, more technically demanding projects with the same attention to detail that has shaped KES Group from the beginning.
Expanding Capacity, Capability and People
Buildings alone do not create manufacturing capability.
Real capability comes from combining the right facilities with skilled people, advanced equipment and well-managed processes. That is why the development of KES Group is taking place across several areas at once.
Investment in advanced machinery and tooling has improved precision, refined production processes and increased manufacturing efficiency. It supports greater repeatability while giving our teams the technology required to deliver increasingly complex modular and electrical solutions.

This is particularly significant for Energi X, the critical power infrastructure division of KES Group.
Energi X designs, manufactures, tests and delivers low- and medium-voltage switchgear, E-Houses, E-Skids, package substations and other integrated systems for data centres and industrial power applications. The division brings together more than 150 specialists across engineering, manufacturing and project delivery.

In November 2025, KES Group announced a technology partnership with Siemens under the SIVACON S4 and S8 licence agreement. The partnership supports the company’s expansion into the global hyperscale data centre power infrastructure market and strengthens its ability to manufacture advanced, mission-critical electrical systems.

KES Group’s expansion plans also include automated equipment for high-volume switchgear production and manufacturing capacity designed to support approximately 50 large-format E-Houses simultaneously. These plans reflect both the scale of the opportunity ahead and the level of preparation required to serve major international infrastructure programmes.
Business X is developing alongside this growth.
Through Business X, KES Group creates premium modular workspaces that combine off-site manufacturing with distinctive architecture, considered interiors and commercial flexibility. Increased manufacturing capacity allows the division to support more customers seeking high-quality offices, customer environments and relocatable commercial spaces.

Although Energi X and Business X serve different markets, both benefit from shared investment in design, manufacturing, project management and quality control.
The most important investment, however, remains our people.
KES Group has announced plans for significant workforce expansion across engineering, fabrication, design, manufacturing and project delivery. Attracting experienced professionals will be essential, but so will creating opportunities for the next generation.
Our higher-level apprenticeship programme provides structured pathways in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, quantity surveying, commercial management and accountancy. Apprentices gain recognised qualifications while working within a fast-scaling manufacturing environment and contributing to live projects.

This focus on training and professional development is central to sustainable growth. New technology can increase capacity, but it is the knowledge, judgement and craftsmanship of our people that turn that technology into dependable solutions.
Building the Next Chapter
KES Group’s international expansion is an important milestone, but it is also the continuation of a longer journey.
From a Northern Ireland business founded in 2009 to an integrated manufacturing group serving international markets, each stage of growth has created the foundation for the next.
The latest phase brings together expanded facilities, advanced manufacturing technology, strategic partnerships and a growing team. Together, these investments are strengthening our ability to deliver at greater scale while maintaining control over design, quality and project performance.

For our customers, that means broader capabilities and greater manufacturing capacity. For our partners, it means working with a business preparing for long-term international delivery. For our employees and local community, it means new careers, new skills and the opportunity to contribute to projects with global significance.
There is still much more to come.
As KES Group continues to grow, our focus will remain clear: invest with purpose, develop our people and create high-quality solutions that perform wherever they are delivered.
From premium modular workspaces to mission-critical power infrastructure, we are building the capabilities required for the next generation of projects.
