Our tendering team at KES Group has received numerous educational opportunities to supply prefabricated schools, classrooms, sports halls, and more. As summer progresses, schools face tight deadlines to address space shortages on their campuses. With our advanced offsite construction methods, we can meet shorter time frames, adhere to stricter budgets, and provide a complete project management service.
We are excited to announce a new contract award for Beech Hill College. The project includes designing, building, and delivering a prefabricated school building. In addition, a fully project-managed scheme with a groundworks package that covers the positioning and connection of services. We will also handle removal after a three-year rental period.
What’s Included?
This specialist prefabricated school building will be fully equipped with:
- 2x Classrooms
- 1 SEN (special education needs) classroom
- 2 Sets of Toilet blocks, which will include both accessible toilets and shower rooms
- 2x Lobby areas
- Storeroom
As standard with every awarded contract, we provide a detailed program that breaks down each stage of the project’s journey, from design to final handover. In the educational sector, meeting deadlines is crucial since the premises must be operational for the students’ return in September. For this project, we’ve scheduled an 8-week factory assembly period and 2.5 weeks on-site. The on-site work will involve site preparation, including excavation and the installation of foundations and services.
The Process
The construction timetable for Beech Hills’ newest prefabricated school development will consist of the following:
- Design Start – 2nd June 2021
- Fabrication – 1st July 2021
- Assembly – 20th July 2021
- Fit out, both externally and internally – 29th July 2021
- Factory Completion – 25th August 2021
- Site Works Start – 12th August 2021
- Contract completion – 31st August 2021
