As we progress further into spring 2021, more exciting developments are on the horizon for KES Group. We’ve been proud to welcome a number of exciting projects in the educational space throughout the year, with a new contract recently signed with St Joseph’s Secondary School, Dublin.
Following a competitive tendering process, KES Group has been selected as the primary contractor in delivering new Science and Technology buildings to St. Joseph’s Secondary School based in Rush, Dublin. This comes as the latest project within the educational space, providing a fresh opportunity to demonstrate how modular construction can transform learning.
Work will soon commence on the projects, with 90% of construction work completed in-house at our premises in Strabane, Co. Tyrone. Whilst this process guarantees a faster, safer and more sustainable building process, it also means that work can proceed with minimal disruption to school activities.
Our work with St. Joseph’s Secondary School involves the demolition and removal of an existing single storey building. Once demolition is completed, engineers and architects at KES Group will oversee the supply and installation of two detached prefabricated classroom buildings. These buildings will feature a general classroom, a tech/graphics DCG room and two science laboratories with a shared preparation room. This will include a full fit-out, final connections and site development works, transforming the units into comfortable, productive learning environments.
The St. Joseph’s Secondary School contract will see KES Group designing and installing the substructure and all civil engineering works in accordance with applicable legislation. As a turnkey project, KES Group will work to ensure that all necessary plant, cranage, equipment, manpower and project management personnel complete the project in a safe and professional manner.
Welcoming the St. Joseph’s Secondary School contract, KES Group Operations Director, Donal Gallagher, highlights the scope of the contract:
“KES Group is delighted to have the opportunity of delivering new Science and Technology blocks at St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Rush. This technically challenging scheme is delivered on a turnkey basis and serves the expanding school community at St Joseph’s. This project involves the demolition of old buildings, a full siteworks package and the delivery of two brand new modern buildings packed full of state-of-the-art equipment.”
Donal Gallagher’s comments come as KES Group succeeds and explores further opportunities in the educational sector. To view some completed projects by KES Group, consult our projects page.
